We are here to help you grow your business.
Why? Because we believe that great businesses can do great good.
Good for their owners, good for their teams, and great for their customers. The good extends to an economy, a society, and beyond.
Good business starts with good marketing and good sales. They’re your way to serve people even before they buy from you, and to start a relationship that will last.
Here’s a secret most marketers won’t tell you: there are lots of ways to grow a business. Our way is through clear, truthful communication using strategies that make sense for our clients’ goals and their customers’ needs.
Our clients regularly report greater alignment between their marketing and their mission, team, and customers. We hear things like, “I remember why I started this business. I love it again, for the first time in years.”
Our clients also experience an uptick in qualified leads as they build brands that highlight the true, unique value they offer. They get better engagement, better referrals, and work with clients they love.
Meet the Team
Owner & StoryBrand Certified Guide
I really enjoy business. I have loved working with small- to medium-sized businesses and non-profits for the past seventeen years. I love talking to business owners, learning how you serve your clients and helping you communicate with your target market.
I love working with people most, but websites are a close(ish) second. A good website (and marketing plan) sits at the intersection of art and science, math and psychology. They are incredibly fun for me.
On the Pula team, I’m the one you’ll work with to develop a communication strategy and big-picture plan. I love leading a team of brilliant marketers who can guide you to the success you seek.
Tumi has a degree in marketing and has been a professional marketer for over 6 years.
A gifted project manager, Tumi keeps your project on schedule and leads social media and SEO work.
I’ve got a bachelor’s in journalism and I’m working on my master’s in narrative nonfiction. Storytelling is my thing. My journalism background taught me how to ask questions and listen well. The narrative nonfiction classes I’ll be taking will help me get even better at taking a lot of information and finding the narrative thread that connects it all.Clients may feel like they’re giving us a bunch of random information, but there’s a story in there somewhere. It’s my mission to find it.

Frequesntly Asked Questions
What platform/tools do you use for websites?
Our platform of choice (CMS) is WordPress. Here are a few reasons we love it:
- WordPress is incredibly well-featured and can do almost anything.
- It remains the top tool after decades of leading the CMS pack.
- We love that we are able to give you a website you own completely. You won’t get stuck on a proprietary platform.
- WordPress seamlessly integrates with most of the other tools you are using, so you can get the most out of both your website and your other tools.
On WordPress, we use the Divi builder and Divi theme.
- It’s the top premium theme and built exceptionally well. We don’t need lots of plugins to get our sites to do what we want them to do, so we’re able to build clean, full-functioned websites.
- The Divi builder allows you to easily edit any part of your website from the front-end.
- All of our websites are fully mobile friendly. Changes automatically cascade to all screen sizes.
We also have experience in other builders and online systems, so feel free to ask if we can help you with something else.
What tools do you recommend for email marketing?
We’re initimately familiar with all kinds of email marketing software, from ConvertKit to MailChimp to Zoho Campaigns. The tool you should use depends on what you need. For simple funnels, we’ve enjoyed MailerLite the most.
What does Pula mean?
Pula is Setswana for rain — synonnomous for life in a desert country like Botswana. It’s also the name of Botswana’s currency, and used as a powerful affirmation. When a crowd agrees with a speech, they shout “Pula” in unison.
I (Laura) am from America, but husband is from Botswana. We lived in the beautiful Southern African country for six years. When we moved to the States and I became certified as a StoryBrand Certified Guide, I launched Pula Marketing. I love the simplicity and depth of the name.
How do you pronounce Phaladi?
Phaladi is a Setswana sirname, and is pronounced pah-la-dee. But don’t worry, I won’t take it personally if you get it wrong!
