Frequently Asked Questions
I'm just getting started. Do I have to do the Blueprint?
Nope, you don’t. The Blueprint is for a company that has invested in marketing and wants to know what’s working and what’s not, or has some advanced goals (they’re ready for an SEO or advertising strategy, for example). Many small businesses can jump straight into messaging strategy and a website.
I know my customers better than anyone else. Shouldn't I figure this out myself?
You absolutely know your customers better than anyone else, and are essential to getting your marketing message right.
But, counter-intuitively, it can be hardest for the people most invested in a company to articulate what’s so great about it without help.
Donald Miller calls this the “curse of knowledge.” Once you’ve invested so much of your energy and your heart into solving a problem, it’s hard to know what is most important to communicate at what time.
You can think about your customers’ journey to finding you like a romantic relationship. They need to meet you and get to know you over time before they are ready to become attached. An outside voice is often essential to understanding what information is relevant (or even appropriate) at different stages of the relationship.
At Pula, we take helping you find the right words to another level. We use a technique called “Conversion Copywriting,” which means we gather data of what people are actually saying about your business and use it to write copy that sells most effectively.
I have as much business as I need. Is it worth investing in marketing?
Congratulations! It’s a wonderful feeling to have a business the size you’d like.
So, to your question, there are lots of reasons to invest in marketing (at least the way we do it), and not all of them are for growth.
What if your sales process was easier? What if your offers were ready to go? What if your customer experience was SEAMLESS?
All of those can be achieved through a Pula-style marketing engagement.
